Beit Yeshua celebrated the Biblical Festival of Shavuot - also
called the Feast of Pentecost - on Friday, June 3, 2011, in the
Family Life Center of Covenant Bible Church in Lincolnton, NC.
Shavuot is a Hebrew word that means "weeks" and refers to the 7
weeks (50 days) between the Feast of Firstfruits (at
Pesach/Passover) and the Feast of Shavuot.
At Shavuot we remember the
giving of the Torah in the Tanach (Original Covenant)
and the giving of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) in the Brit
Hadasha (New Covenant)
Shavuot was celebrated
as the firstfruits of the wheat harvest were offered to Adonai
Members of Beit Yeshua's
core-group gathered on Thursday evening to set up the
Tabernacle of the Lord, tables, chairs and other decorations
A special "Todah Rabah"
to those who work behind the scenes to bring our larger events
to pass
Guests
begins to arrive
Susan say the blessing
over the festival candles
Paul says the blessings over the bread & wine
Chuck leads everyone in
a prayer for Israel and the Jewish people
while the crowd of nearly 100 listen and join in prayer
As
always, we moved into a time of praise, worship and dance
encouraging anyone who was interested to join with us
I appreciate those who
lays aside their own pride to get up and worship Adonai with
their whole body
It was a blessing to
have so many boys and men up dancing, too
Men dance in Israel - may we learn to dance with the same
freedom that I've seen there
What a wonderful
opportunity we have to teach our children about worship
Why do we place such an emphasis on praise,
worship and dance?

The Tabernacle of the Lord
At the first Shavuot, Adonai gave the 10
Commandments -
as well as instructions for the Tabernacle of the Lord, the
Aaronic Priesthood and the sacrificial system.
As a tribute to that
