Da'na Mathis & Mark Motto

Da'na Frances Mathis and Mark Joseph Motto were married on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at the Forest City Clubhouse, 141 Westview Street, Forest City, North Carolina

Everyone who knows her thinks Da'na is a wonderful person - joyful, positive, and she radiates the love of Yeshua.  She's been actively involved with our Israeli Folk Dance classes for several years.  She's an excellent dancer & dance instructor.

It had rained most of the day, but the skies cleared up, allowing Da'na to have her wedding outdoors.

The chupa is carried in

Da'na and her attendants enter

She dances around each of her attendants, presenting each of them with a rose...

Da'na walks the traditional seven times around Mark...

They are addressed by the Rabbi ...

...and they move under the Chupa

...their vows are exchanged

The Ketuba is read...

... and the traditional cup of wine is drunk

The traditional wedding blessings are read ...

...and Mark stomps the glass, "Mazel Tov"

... Mr. & Mrs. Mark Motto

I was honored to be one of the two witnesses to sign the Ketuba

The Reception & Dancing

The reception was held inside the Forest City Clubhouse.
A live Jewish Klezmer band, Freylach Time", provided music for the evening.

Everyone came to dance!

Da'na had asked me to lead the dancing.
Folks began to get up and join us...

... as the circle began to move around the room

It didn't take long before Mark & Da'na were up dancing, too

Da'na & Mark with me and Connie Fox

We danced ... and danced ... and danced.
Many of these folks would rather dance than eat!

Hine Ma Tov ... Hava Nagila ... Od Ye Shama ... Tsadik Katimar ... Mikamocha ... Zemer Atik
Were just a few of the dances for the evening

As the Bride & Groom are seated in the center of the room, the men gather around them.  Mark seems to be thinking, "I'm not so sure about this!"

As the music starts again, Up they go!

The men move in a circle as the music plays...

...the ladies make a second circle around the couple and begin to dance

Od Yi Shama

"Od yi-shama be-arei yehudah, Uve chozot yerushalaim,
"Od yi-shama be-arei yehudah, Uve chozot yerushalaim.

Kol sasson, ve kol simcha, Kol chatan, ve kol kalah,
Kol sasson, ve kol simcha, Kol chatan, ve kol kalah."

"A song shall be heard in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem,
A song shall be heard in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem.

A voice of joy, and a voice of gladness, A voice of the bridegroom, And a voice of the bride,
A voice of joy, and a voice of gladness, A voice of the bridegroom, And a voice of the bride."

Thanks to Duke Peeler for all the great photos
