• Curtis graduated Appalachian State University, Boone, NC with a BS in Intermediate Education, and a
concentration in Math. After teaching for 30 years, Curtis retired in December 2004.
• Carolyn graduated Appalachian State University, Boone, NC, with a major in Spanish, and currently
teaches high school Spanish in Catawba County, NC.
• Married 35 years (1975)
