Psalm 122:6  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: may they prosper who love you.

Isaiah 40:1-5
“Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God.  “Speak kindly to Jerusalem; And call out to her, that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity has been removed, that she has received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.”  A voice is calling, “Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.   “Let every valley be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; and let the rough ground become a plain, and the rugged terrain a broad valley;  Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all flesh will see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Yom Teruah Celebration

Beit Yeshua chose to celebrate the Biblical Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) as a home celebration meeting this year.  Everyone gathered in Doug & Lynda's home for the festive holiday which began with the sounding of the shofarot (Ram's horns).  The sounding of the shofar reminds us of a time in the future when a shofar will blow resurrecting the dead Believers in Messiah Yeshua who are immediately followed by the living RIghteous.  They are "snatched" from the earth (or "caught up") and assembled in heaven for the Messiah's coronation and wedding.

Shofarot are sounded as the celebration begins

Festival candles are lit and blessings are said over the bread and wine

Chuck shares recent events concerning Israel as well as the US
and the group enters into a time of prayer

After a time of praise and worship
Doug leads the group in a study of the Fall Festivals

Even with a severely broken right arm
Chuck shares about the Biblical command to sound the shofar on Yom Teruah
and demonstrates the different soundings

Sukkot in Israel

Beit Yeshua did not celebrate Yom Kippur or Sukkot corporately this year because many from the group were in Israel for the Feast of Sukkot.  To see the photos from the trip, follow the links below.

If you live in an apartment building in Israel, your sukka typically goes on your small balcony
How many sukkot can you see in this picture?

There are 8 - notice the two on the bottom right
